Obama sides with Chavez and Castro in opposing change of government in Honduras

Monday, June 29, 2009

This is the last straw as far as I'm concerned. If we didn't know that Obama is a socialist in the mold of Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, we know now. There was a change of government in Honduras in which their leftist president was legally ousted from office by the country's supreme court for trying to stay in power for another term even though their constitution forbids another term for him. And guess whose side in the Honduran situation our president is on. Is he on the side of freedom? No, think again.

Welcome to the People's Republic of America, comrade. It's Obama and Chavez and Castro working together to try to stifle freedom in Honduras. Obama is saying that Zelaya is still the legal president of Honduras and should be allowed to return to power. Obama is working against the rule of law in Honduras and for the return of a leftist to power. Now I've seen everything.

This nation's foreign policy under Obama is an absolute outrage. The American people don't see it yet but I'm confident that they eventually will. He is making all the wrong moves on Israel, North Korea, Iran, and now Honduras. The great bipartisan foreign policy tradition of this country is over. Democrats like Harry Truman and John Kennedy must be turning over in their graves. When it comes to foreign policy, the lunatic fringe left of the Democratic Party has taken over with Obama's acquiescence, and our foreign policy has come to repudiate most everything that Truman and Kennedy stood for.

Oh how far we as a country have gone down the sewer since this man took office. Chavez is the same one who took sides against the brave people of Iran who are fighting in the streets against their oppressive and illegal government. Yet Obama is seemingly on this thug Chavez's side and against the people of both Honduras and Iran who yearn for freedom.

If you are a freedom loving American, your blood should be boiling about now. What have we as a country done? Will this still be our country by the time Obama gets done with us? And you "ain't seen nothing yet" folks. I strongly suspect that what we have seen so far is only the tip of the iceberg.

It's time that we all pray for the survival of this great country as we know it. We are in perilous times folks and I'm afraid that we won't be able to do anything about it until at least November 2012. Let's hope to God that it's not already too late by then.

Michael Jackson and the Presidents

Saturday, June 27, 2009

Here are two videos showing Michael Jackson meeting at the White House with first President Reagan and then with President Bush Sr. It was well known at the time that President Reagan was a big fan and so was Ron Jr. Michael was participating in a public service campaign to fight drunk driving among young people.

Both meetings with the presidents occurred before the accusations about child molestation came out.

Socialism is destroying California

(California) Dems' Senate leader draws the line

So here we have it. The liberal Democrats who control the legislature in California have drawn the line. They will not cut home health care for the elderly. The rest of the state be damned I guess. Look, if some elderly people have to suffer because of the state's huge budget deficit, that is regrettable. But you tell me Senate Dem leader Mr. Steinberg, which is better, some elderly people not getting the state to pay for home health care that their families should be paying for anyway, or letting the whole frigging State of California go under? Come on now, what are these batty Democrats thinking?

If they don't balance their budget within the next few days, it's going to be total chaos. Is that what the Democrats in California want? And they can't depend on the federal government to bail them out, because the Feds are broke too and even if they did help, there would be thirty states in line for the same help. It can't be done.

So the dysfunctional legislature in California has got to do something. They have already raised taxes in a state that has one of the highest tax rates in the nation already, so that is not an option. And why do you think that they are in such terrible trouble in the first place? One main reason is because the socialist Democrats have made the tax rates in California so high in order to pay for all of their boondoggles that businesses have left the state in droves. And now they want to exacerbate the problem even more by raising taxes again? It's totally crazy.

Back to the home health care for the elderly that the Dems refuse to cut even if it means totally bankrupting the whole state. Whatever happened to families sticking together? It used to be that if an elderly family member needed help other family members would pitch in. Back then, the state had nothing to do with it but you didn't see elderly people dying on the streets. And if there were no family members who could help, then churches and neighbors would do it.

That's the way it should be. The state should not be in the home health care business in the first place. But socialist Democrats have changed all that. It's a real shame what they have done to that state, and if they get their way heaven help the great State of California.

I call upon Republicans in the legislature to hold firm. No new taxes under any circumstances should be enacted. They must cut their bloated socialist budget or else.

RNC video - Stop Obama's takeover of health care system

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

This video echoes some of the concerns that I expressed on this blog last Sunday. It is not true that Republicans do not want health care reform. But what they don't want is another federal government takeover that will inevitably make things worse, not better.

The one major problem with our health care system is runaway costs. Unless these costs are controlled, no type of health care reform is going to do any good. It's all about the high costs, but unfortunately, Obama's and the Democrat's proposals will exacerbate the problem of costs, not make it better. The only tried and true way to bring down costs is to have the government get out of the way and let the marketplace take over. With lower taxes imposed upon them and with less government red tape to deal with, health care providers are more likely to be able to introduce efficiencies which will allow the increase in health care costs to slow. Then stop requiring you and me to subsidize beneficiaries of federal programs such as Medicare that don't reimburse health care providers sufficiently, and we will have made great progress. Another policy which will help to bring down costs will be to stop requiring health care providers to provide free medical care, again subsidized by you and me, to all illegal aliens except in the case of life threatening emergencies.

Get the government out of health care

Sunday, June 21, 2009

I briefly alluded to the health care issue this morning in my post about Steve Jobs, and I want to expound about it now.

Everybody from all points on the political and ideological spectrum agrees that we need health care reform in the United States. We spend more money on health care than almost any other major industrial country does, yet millions of Americans are uninsured and millions more are under insured. And the cost of health care is becoming more and more unaffordable. It is almost impossible for anyone with a preexisting medical condition to get medical coverage if they are not lucky enough to already be insured by their employer. And many employers are being forced to raise premiums and copay's for their employees to such high levels that many employees just can't afford it, so they are canceling and joining the ranks of the uninsured. It's a big mess.

But the solution is not to get the government even more involved in the health care business as Obama and many Democrats want.

The main reason why health care is in such a state of disrepair is not because the government needs to get more involved. Quite the contrary, it's the other way around. Health care is screwed up because the government is too involved already. More government involvement will only make things worse, not better.

The root of the problem started when Medicare and Medicaid were signed into law in 1965. While originally conceived as limited programs, Medicare and Medicaid have now expanded into runaway multibillion dollar boondoggles that can no longer be sustained due to their escalating costs. But what do the Democrats want to do? They want to make things worse by actually getting the federal government more involved in health care by establishing government run national health insurance which would compete with private plans. If you think it's bad now trying to deal with your insurance company, just get the government involved and then you will really be up a tree. Since when has the government ever run anything well? The government will be more inefficient in running their insurance company and in the long run such a strategy would increase health costs overall, not decrease them.

The root of the problem with increasing health care costs is being caused by the fact that both Medicare and Medicade have been decreasing their payments to health care providers, forcing the providers to have to increase charges on everyone else in order to offset their decreasing revenues from the government programs. If you are a young patient, much of your health care expenses go to subsiding other patients who are on the federal Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Until this problem is solved, health care costs will continue to increase at an alarming rate. We need to get the government out of the health care business because that would return the system to some kind of equilibrium and costs might stabilize. This has to be our goal, because the only way we are going to improve health care in this country is to decrease runaway costs.

Steve Jobs gets a liver transplant

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31456626/ns/business-us_business

Here's wishing well to Steve and his family. In Steve Jobs we have a true entrepreneurial genius. Apple products are known around the world for high quality and innovation. I almost daily enjoy my Apple iPod and when it comes time to get a new computer I have decided on a Mac because with the advent of Windows Vista, Microsoft has lost me for good.

According to the article, Steve will be returning to work at least part time at the end of June. Recovery from a major organ transplant is usually long and hard, but thank God that this procedure was available to Steve, and I'm sure that everyone will join me in praying for a complete recovery and a long life for Steve.

Steve's experience is a great testament to how great our health care system is. We have the best care in the world in America. It is true that our health care system does need to become more affordable for everyone and more accessible. But let's not throw the baby out with the bath water by implementing a socialized medicine scheme such as is being pushed now by some Democrats. More on this later.

Obama's response to the crisis in Iran

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

I wasn't going to blog today, but I need to make a brief comment about Obama's response to the crisis in Iran. To put it mildly, he is being way too meek. He needs to come out forcefully and show support for the people of Iran who are trying to rise up against their corrupt government.

This is what I was afraid would happen with Obama's foreign policy. He wants to cozy up to dictators in Cuba and Venezuela, he is wavering in his support for Israel, and now he is missing in action on the Iran crisis.

We used to have a president who stood up for democracy in the world. And thanks to his wise policies, we now have a functioning democracy in Iraq. While many problems remain there, that is quite an accomplishment.

But given the chance to help to advance democracy in Iraq's neighbor Iran, Obama is indecisive and timid. Unfortunately, Obama is looking a lot more like Jimmy Carter and a lot less like Ronald Reagan. If Obama continues in this direction, he might well end up having a failed one term presidency just like Jimmy Carter had.

David Letterman apologizes

Monday, June 15, 2009

I suspect that we all saw this coming.
He (Letterman) apologized to both daughters, "and also to the Governor and her family and everybody else who was outraged by the joke," he said as the studio audience applauded. "I'm sorry about it, and I'll try to do better in the future."
Letterman apologizes

It looks like David Letterman finally woke up and realized that there is only one recourse when it comes to that extremely crude and in bad taste joke that he told last week.

Like they always say, "better late than never." But in this case I doubt that any apology, no matter how sincere, is going to do much the quell the uproar that this whole incident has caused. And what Letterman went on to say didn't help matters much. He is now claiming that he checked before the show to "make sure, in fact, that she is of legal age, 18." Well, he must have already has some indication that the joke might not go down well or else he wouldn't have had to check on it in the first place. If he was already sensitive to the age the girl he was joking about, then that sensitivity should have been enough to quash the joke for good. But as we know, he went forward with the tasteless joke, and now the rest is history.

Will Letterman survive this controversy, or will he go the way of Don Imus and lose his show? As far as I know, CBS, Letterman's network, has not commented yet, but as long as this incident doesn't have a negative effect on his ratings, I think he is safe. In fact, all of the publicity surrounding this incident might at least in the short run provide a ratings boost to Letterman. That outcome might not be fair to the Palin family, but at least the family can be consoled by the fact that they have conducted themselves honorably during this whole fiasco.

And who knows for sure what the long term impact of this might be? Will this be something that Letterman is forced to live with for a long time, or will it quickly fade from public memory? If I had to guess I would choose the former possibility. A few curiosity seekers might boost Letterman's ratings for as while, but after that notoriety fades this incident could very well turn out to be something that Letterman regrets long into the future.

Pray for the people of Iran

Saturday, June 13, 2009

The hard line clerics who run Iran have committed clear and obvious electoral fraud, and the country is ablaze with protests. And remember, these are the same people that Obama wants to talk with. It looks like Obama's Iran policy is blowing up in his face.

Ahmadinejad defiant on "completely free" election

But at least we are hearing voices of reason coming from Israel.
The apparent re-election of hardline Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad underscores the growing threat posed by Tehran and its nuclear ambitions, two senior Israeli politicians said Saturday, urging the world not to engage in dialogue with Iran.
And what is Barack Obama saying about all this?

Obama 'excited' by robust debate

Iran is burning, an election has turned into a blatant fraud, and Obama is "excited." Need we say more about Obama's naive approach to foreign policy?

Miranda rights for terrorists captured on the field of battle

Barack Obama is going to give "liberalism" a bad name. Now it's Miranda rights for terrorists captured on the field of battle. What's next, public defenders if they can't afford a lawyer?

This absurdity is only one of the many Obama embarrassments that have flowed from his need to throw bones to the anti-American left in his party. These include the endless panderings to the sensibilities of radical Islamo-fascists and bigoted moderate Muslims (pretending for example that there are two persecuted minorities in the Middle East whereas there is only one minority -- Jews -- and a bigoted oppressive majority -- Muslim Arabs who want to extinguish the Jewish state.
Obama Begins to Implode

David Horowitz has it right. This is about the craziest thing that Obama has done yet. When we capture terrorists on the battlefield, from now on the first thing we have to do is read them their Miranda rights. Come on now, Miranda rights apply to US citizens. These rights were never intended for either foreign detainees or prisoners of war. And what happens if a terrorist demands to have a lawyer? Well, of course, you and I the taxpayer will have to pay for their lawyer. It's insane.

While they are waiting around for a lawyer, we won't be able to interrogate them and gain valuable information that might very well save American and other lives.

Just what has Barack H. Obama been smoking anyway? We will never win the war on terror if we bend over backwards for terrorists like that. But wait, Obama doesn't even call it the "war on terror" anymore. I guess to him it's just a game now. This is just pathetic.

Thank you Dick Cheney for making it perfectly clear that we as a country are less safe under Obama. And I fear that if this nonsense keeps up it can only get worse.

We now have a president who obviously has more regard for the so-called rights of Muslim terrorists than he does for the best interests of the American people.

That in and of itself is an impeachable offense. On January 20th Obama took an oath to protect the American people, and he is blatantly violating that oath. He is going to give captured terrorists Miranda rights, and he is in the process of releasing terrorists from Gitmo, many of whom will return to the battlefield to kill more Americans, as has already happened, or they might be involved in more terrorist attacks against out homeland.

And who knows what crazy scheme Obama might come up with next? There are a lot of important issues facing this country, and I fear the worst. Obama is already doing his best to run up budget deficits so high that our economy will almost certainly totally collapse at some point. And that, plus this nonsense about Miranda rights, if probably only the tip of the iceberg.

This is what the American people accomplished by electing Barack Obama. We are a proud and strong country, and I suspect that we can even survive this. We survived two world wars and a great depression. Now we as a people will be tested again because of the big mistake we made last November.

We have got to start working right away to correct our mistake. It's not a minute too soon to start working for the election of a strong patriot to the presidency in 2012. And in the meantime, we have to got to encourage congressional Republicans to get some backbone and stand up to Obama and fight his misguided policies every step of the way. We are talking about the future of our children and grandchildren. The stakes are too high. Obama has got to be stopped before it's too late.

Thank you Michelle Malkin

Friday, June 12, 2009

Thank you Michelle Malkin for putting David Letterman in his place. You tell it like it is.
Will you teach your son to talk about women and girls the way you talk about Sarah Palin and her daughters? You called the married 45-year-old mother, grandmother and Alaska governor a "slutty flight attendant" on your national TV talk show because she happens to be a tall, beautiful and dynamic public figure who doesn't look, walk or talk the way you think she should.

You joked on national television about Palin's teenage daughter "getting knocked up" by professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez or solicited by the prostitute-addicted former New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer because it's acceptable in your social and professional circles to sneer at the children of politicians you despise.
http://townhall.com/columnists

Of course, Governor Palin's eighteen year old daughter was not in New York, but her fourteen year old daughter was. So contrary to his denials, Letterman was joking about the rape of a fourteen year old girl. Very funny. Right, David Letterman?

Can you imagine the outrage if Letterman had told a similar joke about the Obama family? And rightly there should be in that case, but I guess it's alright to tell a joke about raping a teenager because that teenager happens to be a member of a prominent conservative's family. Shame on you David Letterman.

This is just one more example of the total hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy of the left represented by Letterman. Sarah Palin's fine family is fair game. And so is yours and mine if we also happen to be conservatives.

Maybe Letterman's has been late night talk show needed a ratings boost. After all, that show is about as stale as week old bread. I haven't watched it in years, and after this you can be sure that I never will.

And kudos go out to Governor Palin for refusing Letterman's invitation to go on his show in order to help his ratings. I guess Letterman takes Governor Palin for a sucker, but I'll bet you that the Palin's get the last laugh on this one. All that Letterman is doing is marginalizing his poor excuse for a talk show.

His obscene perverse obsession for the Palin family is downright sickening. CBS needs to get this sicko pervert off from the air pronto before he drags their whole network down. It's that bad.

But don't look for the political correctness crowd to go after Letterman the way they went after Don Imus. No, it's a blatant double standard. This "partisan hack and hit man" as Michelle Malkin aptly calls him can get away with murder. It's only the rest of us who have to watch what we say.

Obama's message to Israel

Thursday, June 11, 2009

There you have it. It couldn't be any more clear.
It is considered an insult in the Arab world to show the sole of your shoe to someone. It is not a Jewish custom necessarily, but Israel feels enough a part of the Middle East after 60 years to be insulted too.

Certainly, crossing one's legs ankle-on-knee style should never be done in a public place for fear of offending the person next to you.
President Bush had shoes thrown at him while he was in Iraq, and now Obama disrespects Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu with this display, showing the soles of his shoes and crossing his legs while talking to the Bibi on the phone. And of course Obama makes sure that it gets photographed and the picture is released for all to see. But then that should be no surprise to Middle East watchers. The man who was educated in a Muslim school in Indonesia is making it pretty clear where his sentiments lie. He has already demanded that Israel stop building settlements on land that was given to her by God and that was won through blood sweat and tears and the loss of Israeli life during the Six Day War.

But his stand on settlements is not sufficient for Barack H. Obama. He has to add insult to injury. So much for his "new diplomacy." I will take the approach taken by the Bush Administration any day of the week, thank you very much. At least during the previous years, Israel knew that she had a reliable friend in the USA. But now I suspect that they are not so sure anymore.

You might ask "how do you know that Obama intended an insult?" That has been the theme on left wing web sites about this. But look, Obama during his recent trip to Saudi Arabia and Egypt seemed to be aware of every nuance of Islamic culture. He made sure that he didn't inadvertently insult any Muslim sensibilities. So one might ask, why not extend the same courtesy to the Israelis if Obama really does want to be a fair arbiter of Middle Eastern affairs? If you ask me, Obama knew exactly what he was ding when he gave Bibi the shoe leather. And if not, he could have apologized, but no apology was forthcoming.

Obama can clear things up pretty easily however. All he has to do is withdraw his call for a freeze on settlement construction and stop getting cozy with Israel's Arab enemies. It is only a few months into the new administration, so perhaps things can change. And they had better change if Obama knows what is good for him, or he may very well be looking at a one term presidency.

Shhh! We can't talk about this

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

We can talk all we want about the nutcase who shot George Tiller, the abortion doctor, and of course anyone who is pro life is just as guilty as the shooter is. Right?

But shhh! Don't mention the Muslim convert charged with fatally shooting an American soldier at a military recruiting center. It wouldn't be politically correct to do that and we don't want to injure any sensitivities. Right again.

Left wing blogs and message boards on the Internet are awash with chatter about the "right wing terrorist" who killed Dr. Tiller. And never mind the fact that this murder was roundly condemned by all responsible circles within the anti abortion movement. After all, true abortion opponents support life. They are against all murder. That's the whole point. And it doesn't matter if the victim is a middle aged abortion doctor or an unborn fetus. Murder is murder.

But when it comes to Islamic terrorism, that's another matter. You don't see much talk about the murder of the American soldier by a convert to Islam on left wing sites. You see, talking about that sort of terrorism does not fit their agenda. Of course it's hypocrisy, but hypocrisy is the left's middle name.

And now very predictably the judge who is handling the case of this Muslim terrorism has imposed a gag order in this case because heaven forbid that we violate Abdulhakim Muhammad' rights.

But at the same time there is no gag order in the case of the abortion doctor murderer. Are we beginning to see a pattern here?

It was very inconvenient for the army recruiting base shooting to take place since Barrack H. Obama has been busy in Egypt praising the peacefulness of Islam. So lest we interfere with Obama's dog and pony show in Cairo, let's just keep this recruiting office shooting under the rug, shall we?

No two state solution

Saturday, June 6, 2009

I agree wholeheartedly with this posting from the FoxNation Forums.
Not only the Palestinians, but also the five or so Arab countries surrounding Israel attacked it a good half-dozen times, and the Arabs LOST EVERY SINGLE WAR. You would think they would get a hint by now; you can't beat Israel. What I could never understand is why the victor (Israel) had to give jack squat to the losers. Logic would dictate that Israel gets to claim all that territory, so that the nation of Israel should really span from the west border of Egypt to the east border of Jordan, from the north of Lebanon to the south of Saudi Arabia.
There should be no so-called two state solution in the Middle East. The Israelis won that land fair and square after they were attacked in 1967 in the Six Day War. Do you think for even one moment that if Egypt had won that war and captured Israeli land that they would have ever given back any land to Israel? Of course they wouldn't. So why should Israel? They have a God given right to all of that land and if the Palestinians don't like it that's just too damn bad.

After all, up until the Sate of Israel was formed there never was such a thing as a Palestinian State. The so-called Palestinians really are Jordanians, and their natural home is in Jordan, not Israel. In fact, even today, an estimated 75 percent of the Jordanian population is Palestinian. If displaced Palestinians want a home, they have one already in Jordan.

The whole idea of a Palestinian State was only cooked up by Arabs opposed to the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. Before that time, nobody heard anything about the Palestinians having their own state, whereas the establishment of Israel on the Jews' Biblical land was talked about for a long time before it happened.

In fact, unlike the Jews who are a recognizable race, there is no such thing as a Palestinian race. The people they call Palestinians actually are Arabs who immigrated to Jordan from southern Arabia long after the Jews had already populated that land. And what's more, Biblical Israel was never called Palestine. That name was invented by the Romans of all people in about the second century A.D.

So there really is no basis for the claim that the so-called Palestinians have upon the land of Israel. It is Israel's land both historically and legally as a result of their victory in the Six Day War.

Israel must not give in to pressure to halt the building of settlements on the West Bank and elsewhere. They have every right to those settlements. Brave settlers have endured vicious attacks against their homes from Palestinian terrorists for many years. If the world wants to make a statement about those settlements, it should be that terrorism must stop and the building of settlements must continue.

And finally, there is one thing I will never forget. That's images on television of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip dancing in the streets after they heard the news of 9/11. If I ever had sympathy for those people, I lost it right then and there. We had just endured the worst attack upon American soil in our history, and there were those evil people celebrating it. And what was the reaction of Israelis to the news? Memorial services in solidarity with America were held across the country. That my friends is the difference.

Obama shows his true anti Israel credentials

Friday, June 5, 2009

The real Barack Hussein Obama is emerging now that the election is over and for the time being he seems to be doing well in some polls. Gone are the days when his middle name is off limits. Now he flaunts it.

His speech yesterday was a biased anti Israel diatribe that indicates that the days of friendship between the US and Israeli governments might soon be at an end. To be sure he sugar coated the speech with obligatory language that America remains a friend of Israel and that we will continue to support her, but then he proceeded to totally contradict that sentiment throughout that egregious speech. And the lies and misstatements that he told we telling.
For example, Obama falsely claimed the Palestinian Arabs were ‘displaced’ by Israel in 1948; falsely claimed the Palestinian Arabs have been suffering trying to establish their state for 60 years (they could have had a state in 1937, 1948 or in 2000, but turned down each opportunity). Obama also bizarrely claimed that he longs for the day Jerusalem is secure for Jews, Muslims and Christians even though this has been precisely the case since Israel reunited the city under its control in 1967.

Just as egregious, Obama claimed there are 7 million Muslims in America when major studies show there are between 1.3 and 2.7 million Muslims. He strongly implied that Palestinian suffering was equivalent to Jewish suffering during the Holocaust. He also seemed to equate the Palestinian situation to that of U.S. Blacks during slavery and Blacks during South African apartheid. The assumption, just barely left unsaid, is that Israeli Jews are the oppressors.
ZOA.org

The State of Israel has bent over backwards to accommodate the demands of the Palestinian side. They have offered the Palestinians everything but the kitchen sink. Late in his term, Bill Clinton offered them everything they could ever ask for and in the interest of peace, the Israelis went along. But even that wasn't good enough and the Palestinians tuned the whole thing down lock stock and barrel.

Obama is kidding himself if he thinks that any kind of peace that would allow the continued existence of a homogeneous Jewish State of Israel to continue to exist is possible. Some of the Palestinians such as Hamas are open about their desire to destroy Israel, and others such as the current PLO leadership are more coy about it. But mark my words, they all won't rest until all Israelis are driven into the sea whether or not all of them are willing to admit that fact right now. And of course, as I already said, many of them are blatantly open about their desire to destroy Israel.

Mr. B. Hussein Obama is not a stupid man, but he is very cunning. He knows that true peace between Israel and the Arabs that will allow the Jewish State to continue to exist is not possible. Yet he has decided to conduct this charade because he knows that the more concessions that he can get Israel to make now, the weaker Israel will become and the stronger the forces that want to destroy Israel will become in the future.

We American people cannot allow Obama's sinister plot to reach fruition. We must continue our historical support for Israel and make it perfectly clear to Obama that we will not fall for his lies and deceit on this issue.

The American people are going to realize that they inadvertently elected a wolf in sheep's clothing I believe more sooner than later. And if we the people continue our strong grassroots support for Israel it may well be possible to minimize any damage that Obama might be able to do before we can defeat him in 2012 and get another president in power who is a true bona fide supporter of Israel.

Trying to understand those that follow the left....

This is a great blog post that says what I have been thinking, and since I couldn't say it any better myself I am going to repost it with permission.
Here is something I’ve never understood… Conservatism is based on the beliefs of our forefathers, correct? We believe, as they did, in small government, individuality, freedom, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, correct? The forefathers founded this country with amazing insight into what makes a country run successfully. What came forth was a country that grew to be the world’s strongest and most powerful economy and the lone superpower on the planet.

So since Conservatism has been around since the foundation of our country and those ideas have made us the economic success that we are (were), isn’t it a little odd that an entire party’s platform has evolved to be the EXACT opposite of ours in every way, shape, and form? The Democratic Party has come to stand against EVERYTHING that made this country great. Why?

Conservatism has a proven track record of success. Liberalism has a proven track record of failure. It is a complete and undeniable fact.

Look at the country right now. California has been driven into the ground by liberals. Michigan is sinking quickly. New York is a mess. All three of those states have been driven to the brink of bankruptcy by liberals and yet their blind followers keep re-electing the same idiots over and over. When you follow a party blindly because they promise you things and then fail to look at the actual results, you are sheep.

Sadly, the majority of people out there aren’t informed enough to see what’s really happening. All they know is what the liberal whackos that run the mainstream media tell them to think. They don’t see the government taking over GM and Chrysler. They don’t see Obama throwing money at GE (very liberal company and owners of MSNBC, one of the many liberal propaganda machines) under the guise of “modernizing our medical IT infrastructure”. They don’t see the Democrats in congress pushing all of their pet projects through while calling it “stimulus”. They don’t notice that after all of the money we’ve pumped into this economy to get it started, it’s showing no signs whatsoever of recovering.

It’s going to take something very drastic to wake the American people out of their current slumber. I have no doubt, however, that something drastic WILL happen. Obama is being too reckless and irresponsible with our economy. He is meddling in the free market when he has no right and it WILL blow up in his face.

I firmly believe that 2010 is going to be a historical year. I believe we WILL win back the House AND the Senate. I think the spirit of the American People is too strong for a Socialist like Obama to extinguish. The disaster that was Jimmy Carter brought about the genius that was Ronald Reagan. I believe we are on a similar course now. The disaster of Obama will bring a new great Conservative leader to us. Of this I have NO doubt.
This is from a great blog called The Sanatorium of Conservatism.

New blog design

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

I have been working on a new design for this blog for a while and it's finally ready to go live. I was considering several different designs and I finally decided to go with this one. It has a clean look and it seems pretty uniform across all of the major browsers. The only problem I have noticed so far is that the counter does not display on IE 8 without setting the browser to it's compatibility mode, but I think I can live with that for now.

I have decided to remove the Live365 widget that I had been using on the blog because it slowed down the page load time too much and it downloaded the music stream using up bandwidth whether the visitor wanted to listen to it or not. I think this widget still needs some work.

However, if anyone still wants to listen to Music from the Blue Light, there is a link to the station page on the sidebar, and you can easily tune in from there. I set it so it opens in a new tab or window so that you won't have to keave the blog to go there. After all, I want you to stay on this page and read everything. LOL.

Since some people might not know what "Music from the Blue Light" is, I am calling the link "my Internet radio station." If you haven't yet, I hope that you can tune in.

Also, I have decided to start using a pop up window for commenting. I think it's a bit more user friendly because you don't have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the post before you can type in your comment.

I also added a pretty cool search box which will allow you to search for text strings throughout this blog's entire archive.
