Ronald Reagan was committing adultery with Nancy Davis while still married to his first wife Jane Wyman. But that didn't stop him from getting elected and now he is considered a conservative hero by many. Every Republican candidate invokes Reagan's name. So are you saying that one incident of adultery is acceptable but two are not? Can't you see how ridiculous that is?

If adulterer Reagan can get elected and become a conservative icon, why can't Gingrich?

If you do not like Gingrich then that's fine. Go ahead and say so but do not invoke his marital life unless you are also ready to condemn Ronald Reagan.

To me spending $9 million in Florida in order to try to smear Newt Gingrich is a far worse sin than adultery anyway.

Message to those who are quick to condemn Newt for past sins

You can cast the first stone if you want to but I will not. We are all flawed human beings. Newt has admitted to making mistakes in his personal life and he has said that he has asked God for forgiveness. As far as I'm concerned the issue is between Newt and his family and God. Rather than obsessing over Newt's past transgressions I will worry about my own sins since as I said none of us is perfect. And I would suggest that you do the same.

If you can find a candidate who has not sinned sometime in their lifetime please let me know.

Newt Gingrich is airing negative ads only in self defense. He had intended to run a positive campaign but after a barrage of anti Gingrich ads aired in Iowa Newt realized that he had to respond. But nonetheless, Romney's forces have outspent Newt by a large margin with vile and slanderous anti Newt ads. This is why I cannot support Romney and I urge everyone else to withhold their support from this charlatan as well. He is trying to buy the election and he should not be allowed to get away with it. Look at the graphic that I am attaching to see how much money is being spent in Florida in anti Gingrich ads. Romney had shown that he is not qualified to serve as president.

How can anyone support a disreputable candidate who has spent over $9 million in Florida trying to destroy a fellow Republican and a good man, Newt Gingrich. It's pathetic. Romney needs to get out of the campaign and take his magic underwear with him.

It looks like the GOP base is rising up and rejecting that empty suit closet liberal Romney. Newt could very well win Florida in spite of the fact that many already voted before Newt's recent surge. If that happens look for the GOP establishment to panic. But if the voters continue on this path there is nothing that the establishment can do about it.

Yes, Newt's approval ratings are low in most polls right now, but if he can continue to win primaries then the positive attention he will get from that should cause his approval to go up. I absolutely believe that he would have a fighting chance to defeat Obama in November, especially after the whole country gets to see Newt debate him.

A Letter from a Shelter Manager - anonymous in North Carolina

I think our society needs a huge "Wake-up" call. As a shelter manager, I am going to share a little insight with you all...a view from the inside if you will.

First off, all of you breeders/sellers should be made to work in the "back" of an animal shelter for just one day. Maybe if you saw the life drain from a few sad, lost, confused eyes, you would change your mind about breeding and selling to people you don't even know.

That puppy you just sold will most likely end up in my shelter when it's not a cute little puppy anymore. So how would you feel if you knew that there's about a 90% chance that dog will never walk out of the shelter it is going to be dumped at? Purebred or not! About 50% of all of the dogs that are "owner surrenders" or "strays", that come into my shelter are purebred dogs.

The most common excuses I hear are; "We are moving and we can't take our dog (or cat)." Really? Where are you moving too that doesn't allow pets? Or they say "The dog got bigger than we thought it would". How big did you think a German Shepherd would get? "We don't have time for her". Really? I work a 10-12 hour day and still have time for my 6 dogs! "She's tearing up our yard". How about making her a part of your family? They always tell me "We just don't want to have to stress about finding a place for her we know she'll get adopted, she's a good dog".

Odds are your pet won't get adopted & how stressful do you think being in a shelter is? Well, let me tell you, your pet has 72 hours to find a new family from the moment you drop it off. Sometimes a little longer if the shelter isn't full and your dog manages to stay completely healthy. If it sniffles, it dies. Your pet will be confined to a small run/kennel in a room with about 25 other barking or crying animals. It will have to relieve itself where it eats and sleeps. It will be depressed and it will cry constantly for the family that abandoned it. If your pet is lucky, I will have enough volunteers in that day to take him/her for a walk. If I don't, your pet won't get any attention besides having a bowl of food slid under the kennel door and the waste sprayed out of its pen with a high-powered hose. If your dog is big, black or any of the "Bully" breeds (pit bull, rottie, mastiff, etc) it was pretty much dead when you walked it through the front door.

Those dogs just don't get adopted. It doesn't matter how 'sweet' or 'well behaved' they are.

If your dog doesn't get adopted within its 72 hours and the shelter is full, it will be destroyed. If the shelter isn't full and your dog is good enough, and of a desirable enough breed it may get a stay of execution, but not for long . Most dogs get very kennel protective after about a week and are destroyed for showing aggression. Even the sweetest dogs will turn in this environment. If your pet makes it over all of those hurdles chances are it will get kennel cough or an upper respiratory infection and will be destroyed because shelters just don't have the funds to pay for even a $100 treatment.

Here's a little euthanasia 101 for those of you that have never witnessed a perfectly healthy, scared animal being "put-down".

First, your pet will be taken from its kennel on a leash. They always look like they think they are going for a walk happy, wagging their tails. Until they get to "The Room", every one of them freaks out and puts on the brakes when we get to the door. It must smell like death or they can feel the sad souls that are left in there, it's strange, but it happens with every one of them. Your dog or cat will be restrained, held down by 1 or 2 vet techs depending on the size and how freaked out they are. Then a euthanasia tech or a vet will start the process. They will find a vein in the front leg and inject a lethal dose of the "pink stuff". Hopefully your pet doesn't panic from being restrained and jerk. I've seen the needles tear out of a leg and been covered with the resulting blood and been deafened by the yelps and screams. They all don't just "go to sleep", sometimes they spasm for a while, gasp for air and defecate on themselves.

When it all ends, your pets corpse will be stacked like firewood in a large freezer in the back with all of the other animals that were killed waiting to be picked up like garbage. What happens next? Cremated? Taken to the dump? Rendered into pet food? You'll never know and it probably won't even cross your mind. It was just an animal and you can always buy another one, right?

I hope that those of you that have read this are bawling your eyes out and can't get the pictures out of your head I deal with everyday on the way home from work.

I hate my job, I hate that it exists & I hate that it will always be there unless you people make some changes and realize that the lives you are affecting go much farther than the pets you dump at a shelter.

Between 9 and 11 MILLION animals die every year in shelters and only you can stop it. I do my best to save every life I can but rescues are always full, and there are more animals coming in everyday than there are homes.

My point to all of this DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER PETS DIE!

Hate me if you want to. The truth hurts and reality is what it is. I just hope I maybe changed one persons mind about breeding their dog, taking their loving pet to a shelter, or buying a dog. I hope that someone will walk into my shelter and say "I saw this and it made me want to adopt". THAT WOULD MAKE IT WORTH IT.

Tragic events last weekend

How tragic was the loss this weekend of the victims of the horrible shooting rampage in Arizona!

This evil act is not about gun control, or the left or the right. It is irresponsible to play the blame game over this shooting rampage by one very sick-minded individual! People should careful injecting opinions about the political discourse of this country. Stop the blame game of the right OR the left. This is one sick young man who did a horrible thing. It is not the gun’s fault! It is not the right’s fault. It is not the left’s fault. It is not talk radio or the fault of Fox News. It is not Keith Olbermann’s fault, although his commentary of the event was over the top and of course he predictably blamed conservatives for the shooting. It is not Sarah Palin’s fault (if Sarah Palin had been the one who was shot, what words would be flying across your screen today?). It is not the Tea Party's fault. And it is not Obama’s fault. It is the fault of the sick-minded man who planned it out and went on a rampage! It is dangerous to play this blame game, unfairly pointing fingers of blame at innocent people.

And, please, the man who did this is not a believer. He is anti-God. He is spiritually lost. As hard as it is, those of us who believe in God, in addition to praying for the victims and their families/friends, should also be praying for Laughner’s soul. He will be punished for this horrific crime against humanity. In the meantime, let cooler heads prevail.

The left is trying to exploit the tragic shooting for it's own political gain

What the many on the political left are doing is reprehensible. Look, the shooting of Rep. Giffords and others in Arizona yesterday by a madman was an unspeakable tragedy. But many on the left including Keith Olbermann want to exploit this tragedy to make political points against the right and against the Tea Party. Do people like Olbermann have no shame? I guess not.

Now is the time for us as a nation to come together in the wake of this tragedy. It doesn't matter what political leanings if any the shooter might have had. We all know that there are crazies on both the left and the right. But is it fair to blame a whole class or people over the actions of one madman? Of course it's not.

If the shooter had been an Arab immigrant then I am sure that we would not have heard a peep out of people like Olbermann. But since it happened to be a young white man, then all hell has to break loose. This is such a hypocritical double standard that it is just pitiful.

My heart goes out to all of the families of the victims of this tragedy. And of course I wish a speedy and complete recovery to all of the injured. Let us all pray for them.

And while I'm at it let me say this. After a fair trial, I hope that the crazy shooter is executed. He deserves no less than the ultimate punishment for what he has done.

Keith Olbermann indefinitely suspended without pay

This is great news. Olbermann donated money to Democratic congressional candidates in violation of MSNBC policy. It is great to see that his ass is off the air and I hope he stays off the air. He is a poor excuse for a television journalist or commentator.

His program is so politically biased to one side, the far left side, that it's not funny. The only guests he books on his show are yes men who agree with him. There is no critical thinking or give and take on that show. It's all hard left all the time.

Of course he is little different than other MSNBC hosts such as Ed Schultz and lesbian Rachel (Madcow) Maddow. They are all no more than leftist swine, and it is my hope that MSNBC's new owners, Comcast, will send them all packing. After all, MSNBC routinely gets slaughtered in the ratings by top rated Fox News Channel. Perhaps if some fairness and balance were added to MSNBC their ratings would go up.

I am calling for MSNBC to not only suspend Olbermann but fire him immediately. If they do that, perhaps even I would watch them.

I can just feel it. Harry Reid is going down. Sharron Angle just raised $14 million in the 3rd quarter of this year. (Link) That is a huge amount of money and it is enabling Sharron to answer all of Reid's lies and innuendos. Every poll I have seen lately points to momentum on the part of Sharron.

Burning the Qur'an will undoubtedly offend some Muslim extremists who already hate America anyway. But in this country, thankfully there is such as thing as the First Amendment. Burning the Qur'an is no different than burning the American flag, and the courts have ruled that flag burning is protected free speech. Of course, many Islamic extremists come from places where freedom of speech is nonexistent, but nevertheless that is no excuse for violence. They can believe in that book of fairytales all they want, but our system of freedoms is more important than what some Muslim in another country thinks or does.

So I am calling for that Florida church to go ahead with burning the Qur'an. I hope that they don't succumb to pressure to abdicate their freedom of speech. Our American freedoms are more important than the Qur'an, the Bible, or any other book.

There have already been calls in places like Pakistan for the death of anyone in America who burns the Qur'an. That just goes to show what type of extremists we are dealing with. These are the same people who called for the death of Danish cartoonists whose only crime was to draw pictures of their prophet Muhammad. And of course it was no crime to draw him. That was also an issue of freedom.

We cannot let Islamic extremists push us around and tell us what we can and can't do. Heck, if they had their way they would impose their stone age Sharia law on all of us too.

It is time to take a stand against extremist Muslims. Enough is enough. If so-called "moderate" Muslims cannot condemn such extremism, then that also is very telling.

Remember when they danced in the streets in the Arab world after 9/11? It was a sickening display. And now the same kind of people are threatening us. We can't let them get away with it.

The ground zero mosque has got the go ahead to be built blocks away from Ground Zero, yet a Greek Orthodox Church that was destroyed in the 9/11 attacks has not been allowed to be rebuilt. What is going on with that? So it's OK for a mosque to be built there but not a church? I thought this was America.

St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church stood in the shadow of the Twin Towers and was crushed when the South Tower collapsed.

George Demos, the Republican candidate for Congress in the First District of New York, called the delay in rebuilding the church a disgrace and blamed the Port Authority for the hold up.

"What an outrage that our government has put roadblocks in the path of its own citizens trying rebuild their beloved church destroyed by Islamic extremists," he said. "[This is done] while Saudi Arabia, a nation that prohibits people from even wearing a cross or the star of David, now provokes the families of those who lost loved ones by apparently funneling money to build a mosque at the same location."

The church was supposed to be relocated to a nearby site in a land swap deal with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Demos says the project has been mired in bureaucratic red tape for most of the last decade.

There is absolutely no excuse for this. No members of the Greek Orthodox Church were involved in the 9/11 attacks, so why is it that they have not got the go ahead to build their church, yet it's full speed ahead for the mosque? Something is very wrong here.

The American people are overwhelmingly opposed to building the ground zero mosque. As usual, Obama is out of touch with what real Americans want.

A proposed mosque to be built two blocks from the World Trade Center has little support nationwide, a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll suggests. According to the new survey out Wednesday, nearly 70 percent of all Americans oppose the controversial plan to build the mosque just blocks away from the solemn site in lower Manhattan while just 29 percent favor the construction.

Proponents of the mosque like to talk about religious tolerance, but if that is the case, where is the outrage about the lack of religious tolerance in Muslim countries? There already are over 100 mosques in New York City. Yet there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia, and Christians and Jews are not even allowed to enter Mecca. And they lecture us about tolerance?

I'll tell you what. The day that they allow a Christian church to be built in Mecca is the day that I will change my position and support the building of the ground zero mosque.

Obama's Justice Department as we know has decided to try Khalid Shaikh Mohammad and other terrorists in New York, thus dignifying them and giving them a convenient platform to spew their hate. 9/11 was an act of war against this country if I ever saw one, yet rather than trying Mohammad and others in a military tribunal where they belong, they are going to be paraded around in New York like they were some kind of celebrity. I wonder how many millions of dollars this will cost the American taxpayer. These guys will lawyer up (with free lawyers by the way) and stretch this thing out virtually forever, thereby delaying indefinitely the justice that they so sorely deserve.

There is only one way to fix this dilemma. We have got to clean out that rat's nest in the White House. Believe me my friend, 2012 cannot come soon enough. Obama has turned out to be the worst thing that has ever happened to this country. I only hope and pray that he will not have totally destroyed this once great country before we can get him out of there in the next election.

Obama and the Democrats had better watch out. Building that mosque is overwhelmingly unpopular with the American people. With an election coming up soon, their support of the mosque being built on the hallowed ground of the 9/11 attacks could cost them dearly politically. I hope it does.

This is not about individual Muslims, this is about Islamic culture that historically builds large and significant mosques on top of their conquests. Where ever you go in the Muslim world significant mosques are built on significant sites. Istanbul, Damascus, Cairo the grand mosques are built on top of the most significant Christian churches. Jerusalem, the Golden mosque was built on top of the site of the Jewish temple, Mecca the black stone or Karba was a place of worship before Islam existed. In Hebron a mosque was built on the tomb of the patriarchs(Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), on Josephs tomb, Samuel's tomb, Rachele's tomb, in Iraq the ancient Hebrew writings have been removed from Daniels Tomb and the site converted into a mosque????? Are you progressive Americans that unworldly, that blind that you cant see the significance of the mosque the name of the organization (Cordoba)the conquest of Christian and Jewish Spain by Islam (Andalusia). Symbolism is paramount in Islam, this mosque is without a doubt a symbol of Islams victory over the US. The upshot of the WTC attacks has been the economic waste of USA treasure and lives in its futile wars against an enemy it is too scared to name.

Here's another example of the bias we get from CNN. Fareed Zakaria who has his own show on CNN is returning an award he got from the ADL because the ADL recently came out against defiling ground zero in New York City with a mosque. So I guess we know now which side Zakaria is on. He makes a good bedfellow for that other biased bigot who just left CNN, Christiane Amanpour.

And let's make it clear. The Mosque that this Imam Rauf wants to build almost right at ground zero is a stab in the back to the grieving families who lost loved ones on 9/11. Rauf is the same one who refuses to label Hamas a terrorist organization and who said that when it comes to the 9/11 attacks, the United States should be considered an accessory to the crime. He also wants to impose so-called sharia law on America.

And now we have Fareed Zakaria getting in the act. This is just another example of the fact that it is a total lie to call CNN an unbiased news organization. First it was Israel hating Amanpour on their network, and now it's Zakaria who favors disrespecting the 9/11 families by building that mosque which will turn out to be nothing more than a center for America hating pro terrorist propaganda.

In the previous post I discussed the Prop 8 decision in California. Do you realize that if this Imam gets his way and sharia law is adopted in America, gays will not only be denied the right to marry, they would be either castrated or executed? And we want to allow people like that to build a mosque near ground zero?

Using equal protection as an excuse to overturn Prop 8 is a joke. There are plenty of instances where different classes of people in this country are treated differently. Look at our tax system where different classes of people are charged different rates. And look at federal hiring preferences for minorities. Why hasn't the judiciary used equal protection to overturn these things? Well, it obvious. They want to selectively use equal protection to fit their own agendas.

The sad fact is that equal protection is used when a judge needs an excuse to come to a decision. Judge Walker had a pro gay marriage agenda from day one and he is very conveniently using equal protection as his vehicle.

Heck, even the conservative majority on the Supreme Court has got into the act. They used equal protection to decide for Bush in Gore v. Bush in 2000. While I personally believe that Bush really did win Florida by a narrow margin, nevertheless this is just another example of using equal protection to validate an agenda.

The judiciary in the United States is out of control and under the system of checks and balances they have taken too much power.

This is getting to be a dictatorship by the judiciary. It doesn't matter any more what the people want. There are judges such as Judge Walker who think that it is they who should decide the direction of this country, not the voter. The unwashed ignorant voter can't be trusted. So they will sit up in their ivory towers and make dictatorial decisions and the will of the people be damned.

Overturning Prop 8 is one example of this. The overturning of the Arizona immigration law is another. And we can go all the way back to the overturning of Prop 187 in California in 1994 as another example. Because of that wrong headed decision, the people of the United States lost the immigration fight and there is no stopping the hoard coming from south of the border.

The Israel Navy commandos who on Monday raided a flotilla bound for the Gaza Strip with humanitarian aid had no choice but to defend themselves against the violent activists, a captain of the elite marines unit who carried out the operation said Tuesday.

"We knew there would be resistance, but not at such an enormous scale," said Captain R., who led one of the teams and was wounded in the mission. "Every [activist] that approached us wanted to kill us."

Captain R. was the second commando to be dropped from a military helicopter onto the Turkish-flagged ship. During the mission, a large mob of the activists hurled him from the upper to lower deck of the ship.

From the Rambam Hospital in Haifa, Captain R. said that every commando who entered the ship was met by a number of activists who charged at the soldiers and attacked them. At least 75 percent of the activists took part in what the soldiers later described as a "lynch."

Activists on board a six-ship flotilla carrying aid to the Gaza Strip tried to lynch the Israel Navy commandos who boarded their Turkish-flagged boat early Monday, Israel Defense Forces sources told Haaretz on Monday afternoon. At least nine people were killed and several more were wounded in the fighting that erupted aboard one of the ships.

The IDF confirmed that at least seven Navy commandos had been wounded, two of them seriously, in a fight which apparently broke out after activists tried to seize their weapons.

The commandos, who intercepted the Turkish ferry Mavi Marmara after it ignored orders to turn back from its course to Gaza, said they had encountered violent resistance from activists armed with sticks and knives. According to the commandos, the activists threw one of the soldiers from the upper deck to the lower after they boarded. The organizers of the flotilla said the troops opened fire first.

An Israeli military spokesman said some of the commandos were equipped with paintball guns but the non-lethal weapons were not enough against activists who charged in with batons.

Navy commandoes slid down to the vessel one by one, yet then the unexpected occurred: The passengers that awaited them on the deck pulled out bats, clubs, and slingshots with glass marbles, assaulting each soldier as he disembarked. The fighters were nabbed one by one and were beaten up badly, yet they attempted to fight back.

However, to their misfortune, they were only equipped with paintball rifles used to disperse minor protests, such as the ones held in Bilin. The paintballs obviously made no impression on the activists, who kept on beating the troops up and even attempted to wrest away their weapons.

One soldier who came to the aid of a comrade was captured by the rioters and sustained severe blows. The commandoes were equipped with handguns but were told they should only use them in the face of life-threatening situations. When they came down from the chopper, they kept on shouting to each other “don’t shoot, don’t shoot,” even though they sustained numerous blows.

Well, there you have it. The Israeli commanders acted in self defense. All supporters of the brave and free State of Israel need to stand up in support of Israel at this time as her enemies attempt to exploit this incident in an attempt to destroy Israel.

I call upon the Obama Administration to affirm the historic strong bipartisan support of Israel which has been a hallmark of American foreign policy for the past sixty years.

It is a well known fact that terrorists will use any and all means to get at Israel. It is by no means a stretch of imagination to assume that any ship containing a boatload of Palestinian "activists" might have hostile intentions against Israel. And this is borne out by the fact that occupants of the boat which the Israeli defense forces boarded viciously attacked the Israeli commandos, perpetrating a defensive response from the Israelis.

As far as I'm concerned, those so-called activists got what was coming to them. Next time perhaps they will treat Israeli defense forces with a more respect.

It is a sad day when we can't even wear our own American flag, yet it's ok to parade around in the streets carrying the Mexican flag. My ancestors fought in wars to protect that cherished flag. But now we are losing all of that to these foreign invaders who want to replace our American flag with their own.

During this past week a policemen from Pinal County, Arizona was shot with an AK-47 by an ILLEGAL. Also, for a 12-hour period CNN filmed our border patrol in action during which time 50 ILLEGALs and 2,000 pounds of marijuana were confiscated. That’s only during twelve hours and while filming (there would have been more if the filming was not being done). Now multiply that number times forteen to cover the rest of the week. That equals 700 ILLEGALs and 18,000 pounds of drugs for one week alone. That is NOT acceptable to me. Is that acceptable to you?

Of course the left is screaming like crazy about this bill, and of course the Mexican Government doesn't like it either. But all that does is tell me that it must be a good bill. Illegal aliens sending money that they earned in this country illegally back to Mexico is all that is keeping that country's pathetic economy afloat.

I will continue to call for passage of regulations which will stop anyone in this country illegally from sending any money out of the country. That in and of itself would go a long way toward solving the illegal alien problem.

What I predicted right after the November 2008 election is happening. Obama and his radical socialist allies in Congress are hell bent on destroying this country and reducing it to third world status. They are well on the way to creating a permanent underclass dependent on the federal government for support. The principles that this country has stood for all these years are all being fettered away and there is nothing we can do about it at least until November of this year when we the people will have a chance to send the Democrats in Congress packing. But by then I fear it might be too late. The fix will already be in.

Can you believe it? It has got to the point where almost half of the US population doesn't even pay any income taxes. Yet at the same time the Democrats are talking about increasing taxes on upper income people. They are well on the way to redistributing income in this country and that is a sure sign of decay. When you start robbing Peter to pay Paul then the end is near.

About 47 percent will pay no federal income taxes at all for 2009. Either their incomes were too low, or they qualified for enough credits, deductions and exemptions to eliminate their liability. That's according to projections by the Tax Policy Center, a Washington research organization.

Half of the population gets a free ride while the rest of us have to pay. And by the way, whom do you think the freeloaders will be voting for? Of course, that's the whole idea. Create an underclass dependent on you for support and they will keep you in power with their votes. Folks, things are looking really bleak.

In November of 2008 we elected a Manchurian candidate bent on destroying our once great country, and so far he is doing a good job of it. This so-called health care reform bill will bankrupt our country and cause our credit rating to go down. And furthermore it does nothing to halt the causes of rising health care prices.

You see, it's government interference in health care that is causing prices to go up, and as the government gets even more involved as it will now it will get only worse, not better.

This bill will result in an unmitigated disaster which will ultimately result in the total collapse of our health care system. Thousands if not millions will die as a result of Obama's policies which are designed to beat this country down.

Finally we have a politician in Washington who has the courage of his convictions. Senator Jim Bunning, I salute you. You are singlehandedly standing up for responsible government spending by insisting that the bill before the Senate extending unemployment benefits not be passed until a way is found to pay for it.

How refreshing it is to finally see someone in Washington stand up for the principle that runaway government spending that adds to the budget deficit must be stopped.

Yes, on the surface it might seem that extending unemployment benefits might be the right thing to do, but if we can't pay for it it will contribute to the ongoing problem of unfunded spending that will eventually bankrupt the government and destroy this country. Is this what we want? I don't think so.

And after all, unemployment benefits were never intended to be a long term solution for unemployment. Those benefits are supposed to be only temporary to hold a worker over until he or she can find another job. But if we keep extending these benefits indefinitely like many liberals want to do, there will be no incentive for workers to find another job. Why go out and work and you can kick back and feed on a government sponsored gravy train? It's just ridiculous.

Too many of the unemployed are having a ball buying beer with their unemployment benefits and sitting around watching TV when they should be out on the street looking for another job. And what of their children? Well hey, that's OK too because they get to go to school and get free meals paid for by the taxpayer, when in reality it should be the responsibility of the parents to feed their children.

If they get their way, the Democrats and the liberals will totally destroy this once great country. But it won't happen if Senator Bunning has his way. Thank you Jim Bunning. You are a great man.

I'm sure that in private agents of the British Secret Service and others have nothing but respect and admiration for the steely determination of Mossad and it's brave agents.

If only our CIA had half the balls that Mossad has. Under Obama our CIA has essentially been neutered, and the American people are less safe for it. But at least in Israel, we have an intelligence agency that has the grudging respect and envy of the world.

And meanwhile the remaining terrorist leaders of Hamas must be quaking in their boots. It's a job well done.

Edit - Yea, the USA wins 5-3. Could this be 1980 all over again? I don't think so because this year's team is a better team than the 1980 team was and while winning the gold for them would be an upset, it would be a more plausible win than it was in 1980.

The original We Are the World brought together the most talented artists of the time for a common cause. This new version, borne out of hubris and greed, features Auto Tune and rappers going yo-yo-yo over a five-year old backing track. In an effort to throw together numerous artists and cash in on a tragedy, they forgot the harmonizing that made the original distinct. In its place are many artists of questionable talent. It's a miracle Ke$ha wasn't asked to sing on this with Streisand. Next time there's a horrible natural disaster, how about we just re-release the original and let that raise money--and consign this bad remake to history along with Band Aid 1989 and Band Aid 20.

It's just another case of trying to cash in on a tragedy. The original "We Are the World" was a great thing. I remember tears coming to my eyes when I first heard it. And it was a top notch video. But this remake is noting like that.

By all means, support relief efforts in Haiti. I already have myself. But go through a legitimate bona fide charity such as the Red Cross. Leave this phony We Are the World revisited alone.

Coverage of the tragedy in Haiti

I want to congratulate CNN for their very excellent coverage of the catastrophe in the impoverished Caribbean nation of Haiti. I am not usually a big CNN fan, but IMO their coverage of this event has been stellar.

I find myself turning away from some of the horrific images of dead and dying and wounded, especially when it involves children, but then in a strange way I feel like I must watch. This is such an unspeakable tragedy. What else can one say about it?

I hope that everyone will donate what they can to help the people of Haiti, who are our neighbors in the Western Hemisphere. Here is a good website that lists several avenues for donations. Or you can go to Clintonbushhaitifund.org.

Where do the poor people of Haiti go from here? Their nation is for all practical purposes totally destroyed and it will take many years of hard work and a lot of money to make a difference.

Haiti is on the front pages now, and there is as lot of attention being payed to it. But what will happen after a while when this story fades from the front pages and we move on to our next tragedy? Haiti will be a long term project. We are talking about the lives and well being of millions of human beings here. I pray that God will look over the people of Haiti and bless them with peace and redemption.

MFTBL will be adding additional listener slots soon

There are some good changes coming to MFTBL.

Music from the Blue Light is in the process of adding 420 additional free listener slots. This will mean that 500 people will be able to simultaneously listen to the station. That will allow a lot of leeway for growth.

In addition to that, the storage space for music will be increased to 6 GB, which menas that there will be a lot more music variety. You will literally be able to listen for days and days without hearing the same track twice.

These changes should allow on one the Internet's longest running easy listening music stations, now entering it's eleventh year, the chance to go to the next level. The station will also be available on more platforms and it should soon be listed again in the iTunes music directory.

Things might be coming to a head in Iran

Could the days of the repressive regime in Iran be numbered? According to an article posted at the Huffington Post, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, has readied his personal plane for a possible evacuation from Iran to Russia.

Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei could flee to Russia should the situation in his country continue to spiral out of control, according to Radio Netherlands.

The media organization reports that the Supreme National Security Council ordered a check-up Sunday of the jet on standby to evacuate Khamenei and his family should the need arise.

I didn't realize that the protests in Iran had gotten to this point. For one thing, with media censorship in Iran, it's hard to get an accurate set of facts on exactly what is going on. But if there is any kernel of truth to this story, then it goes without saying that it is great news.

If the Iranian people could rise up and throw off the yoke of Islamic fundamentalist oppression, what a day that would be. And of course the cause of world peace would have been advanced to a great degree.

Let's hope that in the mean time the deaths among the pro democracy protesters can be kept to a minimum. Sometimes a dying fascist regime such as the one in Iran can get increasingly violent during it's death throes. They might be willing to resort to extreme measures in an effort to survive. So I hope that the people of Iran can become prepared and ready for that dire eventuality.

Probably at this point is it wise for the USA to just stay out of it in order to keep the Iranian regime from acquiring a whipping boy to divert attention from the issues at hand. But if this revolution does succeed, then we need to step in and provide any assistance necessary for the cause of freedom in Iran.

The brave people of Iran should all be in our fervent thoughts and prayers at this crucial time. Godspeed to them.

It was amusing to read about the Palestinian groups seeking a warrant for alleged war crimes. And, of course, when the Germans bombed Britain in the second world war, killing thousands, the British responded by killing tens of thousands of German civilians. Ms. Livni was foreign minister during Israel's Gaza assault last winter.

It is the first time a UK court has issued a warrant for the arrest of a former Israeli minister.

Ms. Livni said the court had been "abused" by the Palestinian plaintiffs who requested the warrant.

"What needs to be put on trial here is the abuse of the British legal system," she told the BBC.

What is Israel supposed to do? Lie down and play dead? Or are they supposed to leave the only democracy in the Middle East, Israel, and let the terrorists take over?

Lets face it, there are enemies of Israel who what to destroy her. And in the mean time, if they can't do that, they want to embarrass her. And there are too many unwitting so-called judges in Europe who are willing to go along with this charade.

Where are the indictments of the real terrorists, the members of Hamas? The answer is that there are none. Yet the former foreign minister of Israel, who was only trying to protect innocent civilians in her country, had the temerity to fight back and now they want to put her in jail? Give me a break.

You can probably tell the I am livid over this. This whole world seems to be going to hell in a hand basket and there seems to be little we can do about it.

But I know one thing Israel can do. Ignore the pussy-footed left wing judges who are trying to get in the way, and be ready to attack with full force anytime terrorists make the first move. On Fox News last night Sean Hannity had a very good interview with Dick Cheney. When Sean asked the Vice President to comment on the fact that the Obama Administration is planning to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in New York City, this was Mr. Cheney's answer.

I think it'll give aid and comfort to the enemy. I think it will make Khalid Sheikh Mohammed something of a hero in certain circles, especially in the radical regions of Islam around the world.

It will put him on the map. He'll be as important or more important than Osama bin Laden. And we will have made it possible. We will have given him that platform, that opportunity, to come here and there is absolutely no need to do that. There's all the precedent in the world for prosecuting him with a military commission at Guantanamo and so forth.

Truer words have not been spoken. Here we have a man who is supposed to be President of the United States giving "aid and comfort to the enemy." Once that terrorist gets lawyered up, they will drag out that trial forever at the expense of the American taxpayer. I'll bet you that Bin Laden and the boys are laughing themselves silly over this.

This sham of a trial will make this murderer into a hero and a celebrity to the Islamic world. We should have disposed of him in a military tribunal held away from US territory, and he should have been executed by now. But instead, he will be getting the red carpet treatment in New York City, the same place where he helped to murder thousands of people.

By the way, isn't treason an impeachable offense? And isn't giving aid and comfort to the enemy the same as treason? Enough said. If Congress were doing it's duty, they would have started impeachment proceeding against Obama by now. But of course we all know that it won't happen because the Democratic leadership in Congress is in on it with Obama.

In 2010 the American people need to throw those bums in Congress out, and in 2012 they need to do the same to Obama. Then we can have a real president again. Perhaps that person will be Dick Cheney himself. A Cheney/Palin ticket would be a Godsend for this country. Let's hope it happens.

LOL. Now it's his war and the lunatic fringe left is furious at him. I'm loving it. Just go on over to Democratic Underground and you will see what I mean. You might get a few laughs from those lunatics over there.

Barack Obama's war

If you believe that he is going to start pulling out in 2011, I have a bridge to sell you. History has shown that once we get involved in a war like the one in Afghanistan we are there for a long time. Our involvement in Viet Nam started in the 50's and we finally left with our tail between our legs in 1975. Expect a similar outcome here.

Hopefully this will make Obama a one term president and we will get a new president such as Sarah Palin or Dick Cheney who will finally be willing to kick some serious butt.

Obama has shown himself to be a weak sister. All of this BS about no more "torture" has simply emboldened our enemies. And then we have a horrific terrorist attack carried out of our soil by a lone Muslim and Obama doesn't even have the balls to call it terrorism like it really is. It's enough to make you vomit.

As I have said before on this blog, I just hope that by the time we can get Obama out of there in 2012 we will still have a country. It starts with the mid-term elections in 2010 when we need to overturn the Democratic majority in Congress, then we can go from there.

In the mean time we can start working right now looking up to the next elections. The stakes are tremendous. But fortunately Obama tonight made things easier. His left wing is ready to jump ship on him and then the only constituency he will have left is the African American community. And there aren't enough of them to win any national election.

Obama promised "change." I knew that was BS. But now we might be in a position to finally have some real change once we can get rid of him.
