Sarah Palin responds to Obama's lies

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Sarah Palin wasted no time in responding to Obama's irresponsible claim last night that the death panel story advanced by Governor Palin and others is a lie. The liberal media is all over Joe Wilson for calling Obama a liar last night during the speech, but actually Joe told the unadulterated truth. Obama not only lied himself, but he called Sarah Palin a liar. Yet where is the liberal media on that one? I guess it's OK to call Sarah Palin a liar if you are the media's darling Barack Obama. It's just disgusting.

Here is an excerpt from Sarah Palin's response to Obama published a few hours ago on her Facebook page.
In his speech the President directly responded to concerns I’ve raised about unelected bureaucrats being given power to make decisions affecting life or death health care matters. He called these concerns “bogus,” “irresponsible,” and “a lie” -- so much for civility. After all the name-calling, though, what he did not do is respond to the arguments we’ve made, arguments even some of his own supporters have agreed have merit.

In fact, after promising to “make sure that no government bureaucrat .... gets between you and the health care you need,” the President repeated his call for an Independent Medicare Advisory Council -- an unelected, largely unaccountable group of bureaucrats charged with containing Medicare costs. He did not disavow his own statement that such a group, working outside of “normal political channels,” should guide decisions regarding that “huge driver of cost ... the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives....”

It's good that we have Governor Palin around to tell us the truth since we won't get it from the liberal media. CNN was even caught slanting an opinion poll with an inordinate amount of Democrats in order to make the poll come out more favorable to Obama. (Link) I find it gratifying that in less than thirteen hours 13,386 people have logged on to Facebook to say that they liked Governor Palin's comments. It is obvious that with the advent of such websites as Facebook and Twitter, the days of the deceptions of the liberal media are over. If you have a Facebook account I urge you to become a supporter of Sarah Palin so that you will be able to follow her frequent intelligent contributions to the national debate.

As Governor Plain pointed out in her article, Obama's health care plan will put life and death decisions in the hands of unelected and unaccountable government bureaucrats. One of their main functions will be to manage the cost of treatment for "the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives." If that's not a death panel then I don't know what is.

So let's be sure we have this straight. Joe Wilson called Obama a lair. That was a true statement. Obama called Sarah Palin a liar by saying that the death panel story put forth by Palin is a lie. Obama made a false statement. Now we know who the real lair is. It's disgusting that the real lair is indeed the President of the United States. Yet Joe Wilson showed dignity and grace by making a quick apology. Barack Obama, we are still waiting for your apology.
